• Hello is a scary word

    How does one say hello so casually when it’s been at this point a year plus? Hello can indeed be a scary word in this case. I typed and deleted this post so many times but finally thought to myself, bite the bullet anyway. They won’t beat you hehe. I miss you guysssss!!! A lot has happened in the culinary space living in Nigeria. Since my last post, I have spoken at TedX Nigeria, The Nigerian Food Summit, Shot a few documentaries and video podcasts with some out and others not yet.

    Enough about me, Nigerian food is really on the map now. Chefs, Food Bloggers, Writers, Innovators, Businesses and Media are really driving the Nigerian Food Story. Hilda Baci did a number with breaking the Guinness world record for an insane amount of cooking time. Chef Tolu Eros is doing great work in Hollywood with Ileishome. Chef Tolani of Diaryofakitchen lover had a great campaign with the gates foundation and Chef Fregz launched his group of companies. My Mum 1Q Food Platter wrote a book and Ozoz Sokoh of Kitchen Butterfly wrote a book as well.

    I am super happy to see the progress of the ecosystem even with restaurants like Ona and supper clubs like Atije and my charge to us all is to keep doing our part. The Nigerian food ecosystem is going to change the global culinary landscape and our beautiful work we are putting in daily will make sure it happens. I am excited to pick writing back up and go back to sharing recipes, ingredients and techniques and also general gist in the culinary space in Nigeria. Welcome back to us all!
