This goat cheese puff puff recipe is because I am having so much fun with my no yeast puff puff recipe. Things are looking up and the possibilities are currently endless 🙂 I started thinking about the options I could explore with this recipe. If you have followed me for a while, you should know I don’t go the typical route with a lot of my recipes so please pardon my many experiments that will come for this. First on the list of experiments is this cheese version.
I started out using cream cheese thinking it would provide the right flavour but it ended up with a very neutral tasting mix. It tasted like puff puff without sugar. It wasn’t bad tasting but the leaning was more like bread without any real flavour.
I then added some goat cheese and oh my goodness!!! When I tell you I was legitimately wowed, please believe me. The goat cheese although strong, was the right type of strong. This discovery had me considering blue cheese, matured cheddar cheese, garlic, Iru, African Nutmeg, Uyayak, Agbalumo and other strong flavoured options. Perhaps, in the spirit of exploring strong flavours, I will also go the route of mild but fragrant options; lemon grass, lemon, cucumber, basil etc.
Early in the year, I had started going with themes to tell my story of food. I broke that theme because of Covid -19 but now that we are semi-allowed out again and the grocery store trip is not such a chore, I may start to explore other options.
