Why is afrolems blogging about avocado hair mask? Well food is just as useful outside the body as it is in the body. So I have decided to share some of the ways I use food in all cases. Where are my naturalistas? Answer present! This journey is not easy! Some days I really just want to cut it all off but then i see progress and I am inspired. If your hair is relaxed, this mask could also work for you. I used it even when my hair was relaxed so no one is left out.
Oils for your Hair
I haven’t quite figured out hair density and all that jazz so I won’t talk about the technicalities of maintaining natural hair but i do get a few compliments and I say its a function of both internal and external. If I want to see more moisture in my hair especially because of the dry season, i increase my fatty oil consumption. Fatty oils are avocados, fish oils, almonds, Egusi etc. Obviously, you must understand that increasing these in your diet would warrant some healthy weight gain lol. I’d say balance it with more workouts. I won’t use this post to preach workouts but I am sure you get the point.
Egusi
Someone may be asking Egusi??? Well egusi has good fatty oils and would be beneficial with hair moisture however because of the smell of egusi oil, unless you curb the smell with another essential oil, i wouldn’t recommend using it directly on your hair. If not you would be walking around smelling like nigerian food all day lol.
Why?
There are so many hair mask recipes but I chose the simplest one so you can ease into the hair mask process. This mask in particular helps with deep conditioning and increases moisture in your hair so you don’t have to consume it 🙂 Depending on the reception of this post, I may share some more recipes. So let me know if you want to see more hair mask recipes.
