• Garlic Bread Homemade recipe

Garlic bread is one of my favourite appetizers to indulge in when I am in the mood to cook a fancy meal. I especially love the cheesy garlic bread version. I would typically use parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese. Matured cheddar cheese though, as I feel it has a bit more flavour. I think I would upload a recipe for that in the future.

Every-time I went to an Italian restaurant and they served me Garlic bread, I just always assumed the process was more complex than it came across. I went online to check out some recipes and realised it was really easy. Most of the recipes used Italian bread but I decided to try it with Agege Bread which is a very stretchy loaf of bread sold in Lagos for those that do not know. The result was interesting because Agege bread is not typically toasted here in Nigeria. Figuring out the temperature to toast at and the proportion of the butter to bread was the most tasking part but I think I got it down. Enjoy the recipe.

    Garlic Bread Homemade Recipe

    Ingredients

    1 Loaf of Agege Bread

    2 Tablespoons of Salted Butter

    3 Cloves of Garlic

    1 Tablespoon of Chopped Parsley

    1/2 teaspoon of Black Pepper

    Method

Cut your Agege Bread into strips using a bread knife and set aside.

Peel your garlic and set aside.

Using a garlic press, mince your garlic and set aside.

    Preheat your oven to 350F

In a pan on very low heat, combine the butter, black pepper, garlic and 1/2 of the chopped parsley. Take off the heat when the butter has melted.

Using a butter knife, spread the mix on all sides of the bread and place the bread in the oven.

Constantly check on the bread and once it browns on one side, flip it over to brown on the other sides.

Take out of the oven, sprinkle the rest of the chopped parsley and serve your garlic bread warm.
