Detoxing seems to be the craze every summer because everyone is trying to lose weight. I detox just to cleanse my system from toxins that may have been acquired in the course of my consumptions that month. I have a few detox drink recipes I use and I have decided to share one of them with you. My apple lemon ginger pepper detox drink. Very simple and accessible ingredients with their unique benefits. Apple
- Great source of Vitamin C
- Has anti-oxidants which rids the body of toxins
- Fibre in apple lowers cholesterol levels
Lemon
- It helps eliminate indigestion or constipation
- Great source of Vitamin C to prevent common colds
- Great antiseptic to stop internal bleeding
- The potassium in lemon helps control blood pressure levels
Ginger
- Prevents nausea
- Reduces inflammation
- Stimulates circulation in the body
- Reduces gas in the intestinal tract
Pepper (Red chilli powder)
- Great source of Vitamin A to help maintain eyesight
- Great source of Vitamin C
- Eases digestion
Ingredients
2 apples
1 lemon
1 small piece of ginger
1/4 tablespoon of Chilli Powder
Method
Blend all ingredients with 1 cup of water and run it through a sieve to get the juice.
Alternatively serve it with the pulp for added fibre.
