• Banana Milo Milkshake

    A few days ago, I posted on the Afrolems Instagram page about Milo and how we want the crunch back. A lot of people seemed to agree with me. We hope Nestle hears our cry and gives us the crunch back. The crunch was however not relevant in this milkshake but the shake was delicious. This milkshake is also an excellent drink to make for valentines day. You can have it as a decadent breakfast and I promise you it is very filling. I could have made this shake just a chocolate milkshake with the milo but I decided to power it up with the banana.

    There are some interesting benefits of bananas and they are;

    • Bananas have a high potassium content which is great for muscle functions and maintaining a healthy balance of fluids in our bodies.
    • Bananas help prevent muscle pulls after exercising.
    • Bananas are also a good source of Vitamin C which help boost your immune system.
    • Bananas are also a great source of fiber which keeps the digestion system moving.

    Ingredients

    1 large banana

    1 tablespoon Milo

    1/2 cup of almond milk (you can use regular milk)

    2 tablespoons of vanilla ice-cream

    1/4 cup of whipped cream

    Handful of chopped strawberries

    Method

    In a blender, pour in your milk, milo, banana and ice-cream and blend till smooth.

    Pour into a glass, spray the whipped cream on top and sprinkle the chopped strawberries on top.

    Serve cool.

        Hello Bunmi, I used whipped cream not whipped milk. Whipped cream is thicker. You can choose to use it as a topping or skip it altogether.
