• Indomie Noodles Crevette Flavoured

Indomie, Indomie, my indomie noodles. If you grew up in Nigeria, Indomie had to be the best thing that happened to you. Am I lying? I don’t know about you but Indomie replaced all the soups I didn’t like as a child *cough egusi, banga *cough* My grandma could never understand the obsession. She even mentioned a few times to us that Indomie was not real food and if we ate it too much, it would start to grow on our heads. Little did she know this type of news brought joy to my little heart. Indomie grow on my head? More indomie for me. Indomie is that survival food that comes through on the roughest days. It has helped me ease back into my diets when I have fallen sick and has granted me many memorable boarding house experiences with boiling rings *cough QC boarding house* While I was in Kenya, my Indonesian friend and I visited the grocery store and the first aisle we both rushed to was the aisle with instant noodles and to my surprise she reached out for Indomie as well. She told me it was very popular in Indonesia and she grew up loving Indomie as well. Similar foods really bring joy to a lot of people around the world. My brother once tweeted that Indomie is a very personal meal and no one should ever make it for you. Now, while 58 people retweeted that post, I believe that Indomie recipes should be shared therefore I am sharing mine and I hope you will share yours with me as well. Feel free to send your indomie picture to afrolems@gmail.com and we would publish your pictures on our Facebook page or you can tag us on Instagram @afrolems or share with us on twitter. Let us know how you make your indomie. Enjoy my shrimp flavoured indomie

    Ingredients (Serves 1)

1 pack of Indomie ( I used onion chicken flavour but you can use any)

1/4 cup of chopped vegetables of your choice

1 piece of chopped spring onion

4 pieces of shrimp ( 2 chopped 2 left whole)

    1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

    Sprinkle of Dry Chilli Powder

    Method

In a pot of boiling water, immerse your noodles and boil for 2 minutes till soft.

Drain the water from the noodles and set aside.

In a separate pan, heat up the vegetable oil on low-medium heat

When the oil is hot, stir in the chopped spring onion for about a minute.

As the onions are frying, stir in the vegetables and shrimp

Add the indomie seasoning and a sprinkle of dry chilli powder and reduce the heat to low so the shrimp can cook properly if not already cooked.

Increase the heat and stir in the noodles till all the seasoning and vegetables are properly mixed in.

    Serve hot

    raw indomie

    stir fried vegetables

    stir fry indomie
