Hi Guys, I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Today’s recipe is going to be Homemade Orange Chicken stir fry, very easy and simple recipe and it’s delicious. I tried this recipe for the first time on Sunday, decided to treat my girls to something yummy; I hope you love it as well.
Recipe for Orange Chicken Stir Fry
Ingredients (serves 6)
2 Chicken Breasts
2 cups of Fresh Orange Juice
1/2 cups of soy sauce
4 Table spoons of brown sugar
1 Green Pepper
1 Yellow Pepper
2 Jamaican Hot Peppers
1 Orange Pepper
2 Portabellini Mushrooms
1 bulb onion
1 seasoning cube
Pinch of salt
4 cloves Garlic
1 Teaspoon White Pepper
2 Table spoons of flour
1/2 cup of water
Vegetable or Coconut Oil
Recipe
- Cut chicken breast, and put in a bowl with 1/4 cup of soy sauce. Add garlic, cube of maggi, 2 spoons of brown sugar and white pepper. Allow to marinate for an hour in the refrigerator ( this step can be done the night before)
- In a separate bowl, pour freshly squeezed orange juice, 1/4 cup of soy sauce, 2 table spoons brown sugar and mix properly.
- In a large frying pan or wok pan, add some oil and fry the already marinated chicken until it is cooked inside or until it is slightly browned. Chop the mushrooms and toss them in as the chicken is browning.
- Add the orange juice mixture and allow to cook on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes
- In a separate frying pan, saute cut vegetables on low heat until tender for 7-10 minutes. Don’t forget to salt the vegetables (don’t over cook the vegetables)
- Mix the flour and the water in a bowl and add the mixture to the chicken sauce ( this thickens the consistency of the sauce)
- Add the sauted vegetables and allow to simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve hot.
I served this with coconut fried rice, you can serve this with just basmati rice, be careful not to over spice the fried rice so that the taste can compliment the stir fry.
