• Nutty Creme Rice

    Hope you have all been enjoying our christmas dessert offerings. Our final dessert recipe is courtesy my mum 1Q Food Platter. Hope you all have a merry Christmas and an amazing new year.

    Recipe( serves 4)

    Ingredients
    6 table spoons boiled Rice ( the type used for tuwon) or jasmine rice
    4 teaspoons coarsely crushed Cashew nuts
    6 pieces Dates (chopped)
    2 tablespoons Sultanas (currant)
    3 tablespoons cream
    1 table spoon Sugar
    1 stick Cinnamon

    Method
    1, Wash and boil the rice with a piece of the cinnamon stick  till very soft. Jasmine rice will also work for this dessert.
    2, Add the sultanas and chopped dates to soften a bit and add their sweetness
    3, Whisk the sugar into the cream and add to the rice and stir, cook for 2 minutes
    4, Scoop into dessert bowls , chill , sprinkle with nuts and grated cinnamon sticks or powder and serve
