• Salt and Pepper Salmon – David

So because I have 4 Salmon slices too run through this week I have to grace you with yet another yummy Salmon recipe. I learned this recipe while working as a cook at the Bloor Street diner one of Toronto’s fine dining spots in Yorkville.

The premise of everything is less is more. Salmon has a good natural taste. So instead of spicing out the taste we are just spicing up the natural taste.

One thing I’d like to also highlight is with salt and other spices you really need to touch and taste the food during prep and while cooking to have an idea of how it would come out. This is actually the best way to get better at cooking. The teaspoons and table spoons are guidelines but each spice has different strengths depending on where its from. SO YOU HAVE TO TOUCH AND TASTE 🙂

    Grilled salt and pepper Salmon

    Ingredients

    Salt- 1/2 Tablespoon

Ground Black Pepper – 1 Tablespoon

    1 Fillet/Slice of Salmon

    Procedure

Rub the salt on the salmon and afterward rub the pepper on it. Heat the oven to 350 F. Place the salmon on the a baking pan covered with foil grey skin on the pan. Place in oven for 15 – 20 mins. The salmon is cooked when it hardens and becomes a bright pink color. Can be eaten with steamed vegetables, couscous or garri

I like the simplicity of this recipe and the fact that you’re just spicing up the natural taste of the salmon.

I agree. Most foods have their natural taste. You can either spice up that natural taste or completely change the taste with seasoning. 🙂
