No yeast puff puff! Yes you read that right. This recipe doesn’t even compromise on texture. None of that rock hard puff puff nonsense. This is just as soft, and luscious as the puff puff you know.
If you remember my flatbread recipe I shared a little while back, you remember the ingredients right? Well this recipe doesn’t stray far from that. I kept thinking, if i loosen this dough a bit would it make puff puff? I have to be honest, I had no expectations. Will it work? Like my grandma used to say, “a trial will convince you.” Indeed, a trial convinced me and here we are. I will say however that depending on the texture of yoghurt you are using, you may not need the same amounts as I used. I will recommend still measuring out the full amount and adding a bit at a time. Some yoghurts are creamier than others. I used yoghurt that had a lighter texture.
You can also play with the flavours a bit more in this. I added cinnamon to a batch, I also added cocoa powder to another batch. The possibilities are endless. I made a video with different toppings for puff puff but with yeast so you can watch that here to get inspired. If you choose to go on an exploratory route, let me know which way you went. Enjoy this recipe and share with your friends that have a hard time finding yeast in these covid-19 times.
