Over the holidays, I was privileged to volunteer with an amazing group of people that work at the NGO Food Clique. In 2012, I was looking to start a similar program in my home country Nigeria and I decided to research to see if any other organization was doing something similar and perhaps I could work with them and I found Food Clique. Food Clique caters to the bottom of the pyramid by providing food to individuals that are not able to afford their next meal due to unemployment, extreme poverty or natural disasters. They have done an amazing job thus far and have selflessly served these people even out of their own pockets. I have been following their story for a while and I believe with a little more empowerment they can do more. Throughout the month of February, I will be posting links to their website and donation options as they provide me with their information, after all my food posts so you can show some love to the people in need and cannot afford any food. It is my hope that working with organizations like these we can fight extreme hunger in our country Nigeria.
For now If you would like to make donations to Food Clique, you can do so on their website at http://www.foodclique.org/ or send them an email stating if you would like to donate food, money or sponsor a family. You can also contact them via Facebook: www.facebook.com/foodclique if you would like to volunteer with them on one of their drives.
Here are some pictures from my experience.
Here is a tiny video I managed to record before I had to start serving food. They were trying to engage the children before serving the food 🙂
